Bags taking over?

Sometimes you want to hang on to some of those plastic shopping bags instead of recycling them all. I know for myself I use a ton of them when I move to pack breakables. Well, to help keep them contained save your empty tissue boxes and paper towel tubes, stuff them full of plastic bags and then tuck them away until you need them! I've been doing this for several years now, and it's amazing how many bags you can store in a little space doing this!

Get unstuck

Keep a few newspapers in your vehicle, then if you get stuck in the mud lay the newspapers under your rear tires for traction.

Dry those shoes

If you have wet shoes stuff them with newspaper. The newspaper will absorb the moisture as well as help maintain the shape of your shoes.

Heat before you hammer!

If you are hanging a picture add a little heat to your hook before hammering it in. It will go in a lot easier as well as reduce the risk of plaster cracking.

Grip that Board!

Tired of your cutting board slipping away? Some cutting boards don't come with any kind of grip on the bottom, others it just wears away over time. Try putting either a wet paper towel under it for grip, or go to the dollar store and pick up a grippy placemat or shelf liner and use it under your cutting board. A slipping cutting board you will have no more!

Cut those greens...onions that is!

Ever struggled cutting green onions? Sometimes the knife just doesn't want to go through them. Try cutting them with kitchen scissors instead! It's even faster then cutting with a knife, you can cut several at one time, and it's easy to control what size you want them cut to!

What this is all about!

Well, I love tips! I love reading them in magazines, I love coming up with them myself. So I thought what better way to organize all these tips and share them with other people but in a blog! So basically I intend to share my tips and others I come across, things that just help to make life simpler or less expensive.

As the amount of tips I have posted accumulate I will try to keep them organized by tags so they are easier to find. There will probably be lots of posts since I think the easiest way to keep them organized is going to be by having each tip in it's own post.
